Cynthia M. Patton

Cynthia M. Patton is currently General Counsel and Secretary at Verily Life Sciences, a healthtech subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., where she oversees the compliance, privacy, security, legal and governmental affairs functions of the company. Prior to Verily, she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Amgen Inc. from 2012 to 2020, after serving as VP in Amgen’s law department responsible for commercial legal activities in the U.S. and lead commercial lawyer for both the oncology and inflammation business units. Prior to Amgen, she served as General Counsel of SCAN Health Plan, a California Medicare Advantage Plan. Ms. Patton previously served as Chair of the Amgen Foundation and is a board member for the Ethics and Compliance Initiative, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, a private, nonprofit, safety-net hospital serving South Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Music Center. Ms. Patton also serves on the board of trustees of Vassar College, Wildwood School in Los Angeles, and the Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement at NYU Law School, as well as the National Association for Law Placement Foundation for Law Career Research and Education. Ms. Patton received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
