Nico Van Hoecke

Nico has over two decades of experience in commercial management and finance as well as extensive expertise in supporting and growing organizations and business across the world. He started his career at MSD in Finance, taking on increased responsibilities over the years, including Finance Director for the Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxemburg cluster and Finance Director for Central and Eastern Europe. He later served as Regional Finance Lead for Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa and Business & Commercial Operations Lead for the same region.

Nico was also the Regional President for EEMEA at MSD, where he led the human health business across more than 70 countries, managing a team of over 1,700 staff. Under his management, the EEMEA region significantly changed its business trajectory, providing sustainable growth against a backdrop of unprecedented times and circumstances. Prior to this role, he led the Finance Organization for MSD’s Emerging Markets, overseeing the finance departments of all countries in Latin America, EEMEA and Asia Pacific. Before joining MSD, he was an External Auditor with Deloitte Touche.

Nico has a Master’s degree in corporate income taxes and commercial sciences, specialty in accountancy and a Bachelor’s degree in commercial sciences, all from EHSAL in Brussels.
