All healthcare providers who dispense NEXPLANON® (etonogestrel implant) 68 mg are required to complete NEXPLANON REMS certification by August 23, 2026 to maintain access to NEXPLANON.

All providers who administer NEXPLANON must become REMS certified, including those who previously completed the Clinical Training Program (CTP). The goal of the NEXPLANON REMS is to mitigate complications due to improper insertion and removal.

Certification requirements vary by provider status:

  • Active inserters: Complete certification online at www.NEXPLANONREMS.com by reviewing the Prescribing Information and Healthcare Provider Guide and submitting the Knowledge Assessment and Enrollment Form.
  • Inactive or new providers: Complete all required training, including online didactic and in-person practical training. Providers are encouraged to begin the certification process as soon as possible to allow sufficient time before the deadline.

For questions about REMS certification, contact the NEXPLANON REMS Program at 1-833-NXP-REMS (1-833-697-7367) or Organon at 1-844-674-3200.

Before prescribing NEXPLANON, please read the Prescribing Information, including Boxed Warning. The Patient Information also is available.
